Watch: Lewis Hamilton extremely DISTRAUGHT after an embarrassing SQ2 exit during Miami Sprint quali
John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

Lewis Hamilton ‘s woes at Mercedes have become a never-ending story under the current set of F1 regulations. After enduring two painful years, it seems he is in for another as he finished the recent Miami Sprint qualifying in a disappointing 12th place.

Since hitting the Miami Street Circuit during Friday Practice, the W15 has just not looked anywhere near its rivals level. Lewis Hamilton and George Russell have been struggling in it but despite this, no one had expected both of them to get knocked out at the end of SQ2.

Hamilton was so disappointed that he was even seen shaking his head while getting out of the horrendous Mercedes 2024 challenger! From his actions, it was quite evident that he just wanted his nightmare to be over as soon as possible.

The Toto Wolff-led Mercedes F1 team has not been able to produce strong cars under the current regulations. It has been the same story since 2022 and even Wolff was shocked when both Hamilton and Russell were not able to make it into SQ3.

Lewis Hamilton’s take on his shocking SQ2 elimination

While Lewis Hamilton was seen shaking his head in the Mercedes garage at the end of SQ2, he delved into his outing in detail during the post-sprint quali interviews. Hamilton is very disappointed with how slow the W15 is in comparison to the lights of Ferrari, McLaren, and the mighty Red Bull.

During his final SQ2 push lap, the 39-year-old was only able to manage a time of 1.28.371.

The car felt really good in FP1. In Sprint Quali, it didn’t feel terrible… It’s just we’re 7 tenths off, that’s just the pace of our car, I think. I think the Sprint Race is gonna be tough. We’re in 12th, don’t expect a huge amount from there to be honest. It’s not an easy circuit to overtake on, or to follow. Just try to step into the points somehow if we can. Lewis Hamilton said in post quali interviews

Hamilton has given a pretty damning verdict for the rest of the Miami race weekend. He is not expecting anything magical from his package and is thus, not too optimistic regarding the rest of the Miami running. Keeping in view everything that the Brit has discussed, the upcoming Sprint race could prove to be a painful watch for the Mercedes faithful all over the globe.
